CLIENT

The Black Leadership Kitchen Cabinet (BLKC) of Silicon Valley is a volunteer lead organization. BLKC is comprised of community-based organizations, agencies, businesses, sororities, fraternities, social groups, and individual community members who all work collaboratively to support, sustain, and improve, the lives of the African/African Ancestry population within Santa Clara County. The essence of this organization is to bring equity to the community through different opportunities.

OPPORTUNITY

When visiting the Black Leadership Kitchen Cabinets website, their designs, content, and logo did not speak to their brand identity. Along with the designs and content, the overall look and feel appeared out of date. The members of the Black Leadership Kitchen Cabinets desired to have a digital presence that connects to multiple generations in the community.

THE
SOLUTION

BLKC is a volunteer lead organization founded on community collaboration. Before the designing phase, our team honed in on the organization’s purpose and identity in the community. After the discovery phase with the community members, our team began to design a few prototypes.

We created a new logo for the BLKC website which has an African cultural flavor to it. The website was also created based on the client’s preference to include African symbolism and elements. We explored different African patterns and symbols that can go well with the website while also maintaining a fun, professional aesthetic of the website.

Once the designs were approved by the clients, our team began implementing the designs via WordPress.
